Farm to table

This is my favorite time of year.  Farmer’s Markets abound in just about every city.  Visit as often as you can....pick up the freshest, tastiest fruits, vegetables and herbs.  Try things you have never tried before and discover some great new dining options.

You can usually find honey, dries fruits, oils and vinegars and other locally made goodies.  Ask the vendors for the different ways they use their products, to get some new ideas.

Look for breads, jams, salsas and chutneys.  Support your local farmers, chefs and bakers and bring a plethora of new flavors into your home and onto your dining table.

Another fabulous option available at local Farmer’s Markets are beautiful bouquets of flowers and freshly made spa products, beeswax candles and sometimes, if you are really lucky, cheeses and nut butters.

You may be lucky enough to live in an area where wine and chocolates find their way into the Farmer’s Market.

Where ever you may live, there are wonderful treats waiting for you.  Bypass the mundane in your grocery stores and grocery warehouses and discover the bounty grown and produced locally.  Host a neighborhood potluck and have everyone bring a dish created from locally grown goodies.

Enjoy!
