RICE to the RESCUE!

A fast, simple way to clean stubborn coffee pot stains is to pour 2 tbsp of uncooked rice in the pot.  Add 5 ice cubes and swirl the pot until clean.  The rice will do the scrubbing for you!

Need a heating pad in a hurry?  Just fill an old, clean tube sock with uncooked rice and tie off the end.  Heat the sock in your microwave for 2-3 minutes.   It will be hot when you remove it, so use a towel or oven mitt.  It will stay warm for about 45 minutes!

Salt clumping up in your shaker?  Just add a couple of dozen grains of uncooked rice to your shaker-problem solved!

Enjoy!
